This year’s Met Gala wasn’t just a red carpet, it was a runway showcasing identity, craftsmanship, and storytelling. Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the event adopted the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, celebrating the deep roots of Black style and how fashion has always been a powerful way to express identity whilst challenging the norm.
From the vivid blue floral carpet designed by Cy Gavin symbolising self acceptance, to the structured silhouettes and creative outfits on the red carpet, the event was a testament to the power of fashion as a form of cultural expression.
Zendaya turned heads in a white Louis Vuitton suit and wide hat, channeling timeless elegance while honouring Black fashion icons. Rihanna made her return to the Met Gala in custom Marc Jacobs, proudly showcasing her pregnancy and redefining maternity style with grace. Kerry Washington delivered classic style in a sleek black Dior suit, showing just how powerful a simple, well tailored look can be.
According to Vogue readers, Diljit Dosanjh in Prabal Gurung was deemed best dressed. The Indian actor and singer represented his Punjabi heritage through a draped royal outfit, sword in hand, and walking the carpet as a king. Kim Kardashian displayed a croc leather Chrome Hearts set including a statement train.
